Since 1966, the La Chaise-Dieu Festival has been bringing classical music to rural areas. Each year, this major cultural event takes place in the Saint-Robert Abbey and other emblematic locations in Haute-Loire, Puy-de-Dôme, and the Loire. More than just an event, the Festival plays a key role in the region’s vitality by promoting its heritage and making culture accessible to all.
With the support of the Michelin Corporate Foundation, the Festival strengthens its roots by offering an excellent program and developing cultural outreach activities. In 2025, over the 11 days of concerts in August, nearly 23,000 spectators attended the 65 events.
Alongside these “Génération Chaise-Dieu” concerts, the fireworks display and musical discussions were a resounding success.
The Festival isn’t limited to the summer only: throughout its cultural season, it hosts artists in residence and organizes concerts and educational events throughout the year. This in-depth work contributes to making La Chaise-Dieu, a small village of 630 residents, a vibrant and accessible musical center, where music becomes a vehicle for social connection and local appeal.
By supporting the La Chaise-Dieu Festival, the Michelin Corporate Foundation promotes access to culture in rural areas and contributes to the preservation and transmission of an exceptional musical heritage.
