Expand The Michelin Corporate Foundation provides financial support to projects or initiatives: that fall within one of the Group's 7 areas of action: • Métiers for the future, • Equal Opportunities for access to employment • Sustainable Mobilities, • Biodiversity of forests, • Healthy Living and Nutrition, • New collaborative models, • Regional Initiatives and that serve the public interest, beyond the Group's Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility. What is meant by a "public interest organization"? Expand Under French tax law, a public interest organization is an organization that, according to the tax authorities' criteria, can issue tax receipts to its donors. Organizations with this status have a philanthropic, educational, scientific, social, humanitarian, sporting, family, or cultural purpose, or contribute to the enhancement of artistic heritage or the protection of the natural environment. Expand For example, the Michelin Corporate Foundation does not support the following initiatives: • Sponsorship • Initiatives related to the Michelin Group's economic activities: Marketing, Commerce, Sales, Purchasing, Recruitment, Public Affairs, CSR… • Associations and projects of a religious or political nature • School trips or study trips • Animal shelters • Support for a specific individual or a small group of people • The purchase and restoration of heritage sites (buildings). The Michelin Corporate Foundation focuses its support on the local heritage restoration campaign entitled "The Largest Museum in France," led by the French Art Preservation Society and chosen by employees of Michelin sites. Do you provide promotional items for school fairs, raffles, etc.? Expand The Michelin Corporate Foundation does not provide promotional items, giveaways, etc. Submitting your project What are the requirements for submitting a project? Expand The Michelin Corporate Foundation supports projects of general interest: led by non-profit organizations authorized to issue tax receipts, and meeting the following eligibility criteria: • Positive impact in one of the Michelin Corporate Citizenship 7 domains of action • Ability to deliver a measurable result • Geographical proximity to a Michelin site • Potential for innovation, dissemination, and replication • Capacity to be resilient, sustainable, long-term, and ultimately self-sustaining • Support from other funders Who can submit a project? Expand Only organizations of general interest authorized to issue tax certificates can submit a project. When can I submit a project? Can I request an appointment before submitting a project? Expand Due to a high volume of requests, the teams responsible for processing applications do not offer appointments before a project is submitted. Is there a deadline for submitting a project? Expand For each call for projects, you have 3 months to submit your project. Can I apply for a project abroad (out of France) ? Expand The Michelin Corporate Foundation prioritizes projects located near Michelin's sites. Expand Applications are only processed within the framework of calls for projects. Can I submit a project by email? Expand The Michelin Corporate Foundation only considers applications submitted during the call for projects periods via the "Submit a Project" page on its website. Can I submit several projects at the same time? Expand It is possible to submit several projects under the following conditions: • Each application must be linked to a specific area of action and submitted in response to the call for projects corresponding to that area. • The projects must be concrete and distinct. • As all applications are reviewed from a comprehensive perspective, it is not necessary to submit a project in multiple areas of action. • Applications must be submitted exclusively via the Michelin Corporate Foundation website during the call for projects periods. No applications submitted by email or outside of the scheduled period will be considered. Can I apply for multi-year support? Expand It is possible to submit several projects under the following conditions: • Each application must be linked to a specific area of action and submitted in response to the call for projects corresponding to that area. • The projects must be concrete and distinct. • As all applications are reviewed from a comprehensive perspective, it is not necessary to submit a project in multiple areas of action. • Applications must be submitted exclusively via the Michelin Corporate Foundation website during the call for projects periods. No applications submitted by email or outside of the scheduled period will be considered. Do I need a sponsorship from a Michelin employee to submit a project? Expand It is not necessary to have a sponsorship from a Michelin employee to submit a project. Mentioning a Michelin employee who is familiar with the association or its project may provide a complementary perspective. My project seems to fall under several areas of action. How should I choose which one to categorize it under? Expand The information available on the website in the "Our Projects" section should help you assess the relevance of your chosen area. A project covering multiple areas of action will be reviewed in the same way as any other. The study of your project How long can I expect to wait for a response after submitting my project? Expand Every application receives a response. This response usually arrives before the start of the next call for projects, regardless of when the project was submitted. The response date is specified on the "Submit a Project" page. Is there a maximum budget allocated to projects? Expand The Michelin Corporate Foundation contributes to the funding of a project based on its scope, its alignment with its areas of activity, and its impact compared to other applications. Donation amounts are not predetermined. Can I request a meeting if my application is rejected? Expand The Michelin Corporate Foundation receives numerous applications, some of which are similar or related. Despite the unique quality of each project, it selects those that best align with its impact goals and cannot accept all applications. Given the number of projects submitted, it is not possible to schedule meetings to explain rejections. Is there a right of appeal? What projects fall under the "Healthy Living and Nutrition" action area? Expand The Michelin Corporate Foundation supports initiatives that contribute to better physical and mental health at all ages, through physical activity and healthy eating. We wish to enable everyone to enjoy longer, healthier lives. To achieve this, we support initiatives that: promote physical and mental well-being through physical activity at every stage of life, and that raise awareness of healthy and sustainable eating habits from an early age. Does the "Healthy Living and Nutrition" area of focus include a medical component? Expand Despite the importance of this topic, the Michelin Corporate Foundation does not support initiatives that fall under the medical domain. What projects fall under the "Sustainable Mobilities" action area? Expand The Michelin Corporate Foundation supports initiatives that make mobility more accessible and safer for everyone. Expand We recognize the importance of our collective responsibilities and our ability to act together for the transitions critical to society. Based on this strong belief in the effectiveness of collective effort and collaboration, the Michelin Corporate Foundation supports projects* that: empower and unite broader communities around societal and environmental challenges, facilitate the emergence of innovative and collaborative approaches, encourage experimentation within a broader, learning community, develop and strengthen civic spirit. * E.g.: organizations that support groups of employee volunteers, groups that facilitate volunteering in local communities, groups that assist with project development in local communities, communities of interest, etc. Are third places considered collaborative models? Expand “Third places” or “Community centers” are critical for our society, but typically do not fall within this scope of action when limited to a specific geographic area and a small number of beneficiaries. What projects fall under the "Equal Opportunities for access to employment" action area? Expand The Michelin Corporate Foundation supports initiatives that strengthen access to employment and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Why isn't disability a separate area of focus? Expand The projects we support are aimed at everyone: young people, seniors, residents of rural areas or medium-sized towns, isolated or marginalized individuals, people with disabilities, etc. What projects are covered by the "Regional Initiatives" action area? Expand The Michelin Corporate Foundation selects several themes that address the specific needs of a region, country, or town where Michelin operates, in addition to our six other domains of action.
