ARTISTIC PROJECT OF THE ORCHESTRA

The Orchestre Symphonique des Dômes, created in 1984, has three focuses:

• the diffusion of symphonic and lyrical music to all publics, and particularly to those who do not have easy access to it, either due to the lack of adequate structures or due to financial constraints;
• a role in orchestra training for students and music teachers at schools and conservatories and high-level amateurs;
• the creation of works by composers, either by means of orders, or within the framework of partnerships with financial backers (only public to date).

With more than 30 years of experience to its credit, the orchestra now wants to infuse fresh energy into its activities. While remaining faithful to its initial purposes, it would also like to develop certain aspects of its activities with an artistic project based on:

• expansion of its role as a diffuser into territories outside of urban areas and beyond its department of Puy-de-Dôme, to the entire Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region;
• development of its social role of assisting member musicians of the orchestra, notably by implementing perfection programmes for orchestral practice (master-classes, work in residence, etc.);
• solicitation of composers for new creations.

The Michelin Corporate Foundation supports the artistic project of the Orchestre des Dômes, notably its desire to diffuse music to as many people as possible.
