The Centre lyrique Clermont-Auvergne is a cultural actor at the forefront of the scene in Clermont-Ferrand. It participates regionally, nationally and internationally by organising the opera season of the city of Clermont-Ferrand. It is also at the initiative of the Concours International de Chant (International Vocal Competition) which is held every two years. Lastly, it conducts numerous awareness activities targeted at the young public.
Thanks to its level of excellence and its requirements, the Centre lyrique welcomes distinguished guests such as soprano Natalie Dessay or the master of the viola de gamba Jordi Savall. It also makes sure to diversify its activities to reach an ever widening public. Within the framework of the Journées Européennes de l’Opéra in May 2014, it opened the doors of the recently restored Opéra-Théâtre and offered an exhibition of costumes, guided visits and access to performances. By supporting the Centre lyrique, the Michelin Corporate foundation contributes to the artistic vitality of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
