For fifteen years, the École Supérieure d’Art de Clermont Métropole has been working on landscape. Students are encouraged to question the notions of territory and landscape.
From 1987 to 1990, at the request of the school, twelve world-renowned photographers have photographed, in the course of successive missions, “the four seasons” in 101 communes of the Territory of Belfort.
Thirty years later, the students of the École Supérieure d’Art de Clermont Métropole, accompanied by Jürgen Nefzger and Jacques Malgorn, both artists and teachers, are working again on this project, photographing the same landscapes but within the context of territory evolution and spatial planning.
The Michelin Corporate Foundation supports this photographic memory project, which makes it possible to become aware of the importance of historical referents and to reflect on today’s landscape and its evolution.
