A question, an idea, a problem you would like to solve? That is often how a scientific project begins!
Envisioning fuel made from algae, gaining a better understanding of floods, designing a weather station, or inventing a device to help the visually impaired—these are all examples showing how science can start with simple curiosity and evolve into a concrete project.
The 2027 CGénial Competition, co-organized by the CGénial Foundation and the ministerial program *Sciences à l’école*, invites middle and high school students to work in teams with their teachers to develop a scientific or technical project and gain hands-on experience with the scientific method. Experimenting, building, calculating, testing solutions, collaborating, and presenting their projects—the competition allows young people to put science into practice and discover firsthand how it can help address the challenges facing our society. Teams are also encouraged to meet with professionals in research, engineering, and technical fields, bridging the gap between classroom learning and the realities of the research and business worlds.
By supporting the CGénial Competition, the Michelin Corporate Foundation aims to inspire young people to learn by engaging them in a hands-on, collaborative experience that allows them to discover the skills involved in scientific and technical careers and better envision themselves in such roles.
In 2026, the competition involved 5,589 students working on 323 projects.
Teachers, you have until December 6, 2026, to register your students’ project.
