Inside the huge amphitheater of the Panthéon-Assas University in Paris, Sunday November 26, in a quasi-religious musical communion, the quiet audience was able to fully appreciate the different interpretations of the young violin prodigies of various nationalities, Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Ukrainian, because music allows this kind of little miracle!

“Music uses a language of universality, no need for translation” recalled Gérard Bekerman, President of the Long Thibaud Foundation

For a week, the jury of the Long Thibaud International Violin Competition 2023, made up of experts, auditioned around thirty young and brilliant artists from around the world with the difficult task of selecting only 5 winners for the final rounds of the competition.

At the end of the finals, the Michelin Foundation had the pleasure and honor of rewarding the talented South-Korean violinist YOU Da-Yoon, 22 years old, 2nd prize in the 2023 Long Thibaud Competition for his interpretation of the violin concerto in D minor from Jean Sibelius.

The first prize was awarded to the young 18-year-old Ukrainian, Bohdan LUTS, also praised for the quality of his performance by the Press, the audience and the Republican Guard, whose symphony orchestra accompanied the finals.

For 80 years, the Long Thibaud Foundation has revealed many artists who have since become legends, notably Yehudi Menuhin, but many others. The Long Thibaud competition is a real springboard for young winners to start their international careers.

Congratulations to all the winners of this 2023 edition!
