After over 22 years without a permanent home, la Comédie de Clermont is at last moving into its new theater.
In a space conceived by award-winning architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, graduate of the Porto school and winner of the 2011 Pritzker prize.
With an auditorium seating more than 800, a modular area for an audience of over 300 and a rehearsal studio with a floorspace of more than 230 square meters, this theater is a key center of cultural life.
For the opening, two world-class performances are on the program: “Société en chantier”, an immersive show by Stefan Kaegi and Rimini Protokoll in which the audience participates, and Angelin Preljocaj’s production of Swan Lake.
