Since 1958, the Enfants du Mékong association has been working in Southeast Asia to enable the most vulnerable children from disadvantaged backgrounds to access a future through education. Thanks to the support of its partners, it implements programs that concretely address the obstacles faced by many young girls: early marriages, gender discrimination, school distance, or domestic responsibilities that threaten their academic success.
In 2024, over 100 young girls in Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines benefited from comprehensive support: scholarships covering school fees, accommodation, and meals; personalized educational follow-up; psychosocial support; and awareness-raising activities conducted with families. The goal is to create conditions conducive to a stable educational path and sustainable professional integration.
Each individual success becomes a catalyst for change within the entire community. When a young woman graduates and secures a qualified job, she not only strengthens her own autonomy but also boosts the social and economic dynamics of her surroundings.
By supporting this initiative, the Michelin Corporate Foundation contributes to nurturing a generation of changemakers, fully committed to building a future of their own choosing.
“An educated girl is an autonomous woman, a mother who passes on knowledge, and a community that becomes stronger.” Guillaume Mariau, Communications director – and Agathe de Courville, Partnership developments
