The Passerelles Numériques association’s main mission is to promote access to education and training in the field of digital technologies for young people in vulnerable situations, particularly in developing countries.
In Vietnam, despite significant growth over the last fifteen years, 1 in 5 Vietnamese still lives on less than $5.50 per day, strong inequalities between urban and rural areas persist, and businesses struggle to find the human resources they need.
To respond to these challenges, Passerelles Numériques Vietnam created a training center in 2010, in Da Nang – central Vietnam, which each year offers 45 young Vietnamese people in vulnerable situations the opportunity to join a three-year professional training course, and acquire technical IT and various professional skills (English, business internships). In total each year, 135 young people over the 3 cycles are trained.
The Michelin Corporate Foundation supports the 2024-2025 class of 135 young people (90% are from rural areas and 50% are young women).
By training local talents, the association promotes the country’s economic development, creates jobs, and stimulates innovation in a cutting-edge technological sector.
A virtuous circle with a strong social impact on the communities of these young people, which helps reduce the digital divide and help families escape poverty.
Through its support for Passerelles Numériques Vietnam, the Michelin Corporate Foundation is proud to enable sustainable professional integration and a more inclusive digital economy.
