“Tradition and ruptures”, Nicolas de Staël in Brioude !

Imprimer

After the Miró exhibition “Les Chemins de la Poésie” in 2019, the Doyenné reopens its doors to the public around more than fifty artworks by the artist Nicolas de Staël, distributed in the beautiful modern and contemporary art space in the heart of the city of Brioude.

“Tradition and ruptures” plunges us into ten years of artistic creation from 1945 to 1955, where this unclassifiable artist by his evolving style, which he himself qualified as “continuous evolution”, remains an enigma for historians of art.

Nicolas de Staël uses all the techniques, all the materials, in a desire for perpetual surpassing which earned him a deserved international recognition.

A wonderful exhibition that is worth the detour all summer and until October 10th!
