Restoring biodiversity corridors in Africa

Imprimer

This week, Cotonou (Benin) is hosting the Climate Chance Africa 2025 Summit at the Palais des Congrès, with the central theme: “Renewable energy, adaptation and biodiversity: challenges and perspectives.” The Summit will provide a strategic platform for dialogue, action and engagement, serving a more resilient, united and sustainable Africa.

Among other things, the program will address a topic close to our hearts: the biodiversity of ecological corridors. Preserving biodiversity, connecting territories, and involving communities is the reason for the Michelin Corporate Foundation’s commitment to Climate Chance.

In northern Guinea, since 2024, we have been supporting the project to restore a 62,000-hectare biodiversity corridor between two national parks, carried out with local stakeholders and led by Climate Chance. The main objectives are to restore ecological connectivity, enable the natural movement of species, and improve the living conditions of populations through better resource management.
