The association “Chemins d’avenirs” promotes implementation of equal chances for young people living in rural areas and small towns. “Chemins d’avenirs” aims to guide these young high school students and help them develop their potential as young students in big cities already do.
Indeed, many of these young people face unpredictable obstacles throughout their years at school: geographical isolation, house arrest, lack of information and networks, self-censorship, economic and social vulnerability, digital divide, etc. The association aims to bring these young high school students information, help and encouragement based on three complementary fields of activity: building up individual sponsorship over at least 18 months, implementing concrete methods of success and fostering a supportive environment for success.
The main purpose of “Chemins d’avenirs” is to extend its programme to more academies and young people. It aims to bring its help to nearly 1,000 more young people by 2020 in seven academies.
With the help of the Michelin Corporate Foundation, the association has already been very active in the academy of Clermont-Ferrand.
In 2019, “Chemins d’avenirs” will continue to extend its action in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region since the academies of Clermont-Ferrand, Grenoble and Lyon are now involved. In addition to individual sponsorship, new workshops and programmes are being held in the academies (“Workshops of the future”, “Culture & Writing” programme, “These Girls Can!” programme, “Rural youth, speak out!” programme).
