A legendary sports club, the Association Sportive Michelin (ASM Omnisports) was founded in 1911 by Marcel Michelin. It counts more than 5,000 licensed members of all ages in its 15 sports sections. In its desire to promote performance, rigour and ethics, the ASM focuses its activities on three commitments: the education section develops programmes for social involvement or citizenship related to sports in difficult neighbourhoods; the high-level sports section has created a training centre and established a professional rugby team; the Vitality / Health / Wellness section implements programmes for physical activity that are open to all.
Since its start, the ASM has been supported by the Michelin Group, which sees sports as a means of creating social bonds and a driver of individual or collective excellence. In 2014, the Michelin Corporate Foundation logically picked up the torch of this historic partnership aimed at helping the ASM to accelerate the development of each of its three sections.
