Michelin Corporate Foundation joins the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety

Road traffic crashes kill more than 1000 young people between the ages of 15 and 29 every day.

To help fight this scourge, the Michelin Foundation is renewing its support for YOURS (Youth for Road Safety) and is joining the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety as a programme partner.

The objective of YOURS through the Global Youth Coalition is to encourage thousands of young people (“ambassadors and champions”) to carry out prevention, information and mobilization actions in their communities and beyond. These young people are fighting against the causes of crashes and injury (distractions, drugs, speed, lack of helmet and seatbelt), as well as call for meaningful youth decision-making in road safety.

The youth through the strap line #ClaimingOurSpace are finding solutions to make roads safer and mobility sustainable while claiming a seat at the decision-making table.

Since its launch in July 2020, the Global Youth for Road Safety Coalition now has nearly 400 members from 86 countries. It was built from the movement created at the 2nd World Youth Assembly for Road Safety that took place in Stockholm, February 2020.
