Solidarity training for Ukrainian surgeons in Clermont-Ferrand

Imprimer

Last May in Clermont-Ferrand, a wonderful solidarity project was born under the impetus of Pr Revaz Botchorischili, director of the CICE and gynecological surgeon at the CHU Estaing, and Sophie Tontic, administrative and financial director of the CICE of Clermont-Ferrand: 23 Ukrainian female surgeons came to train for free in the advanced technique of gynecological endoscopy.

In 1990, in the joint dynamic of the evolution of surgical techniques and new imaging technologies, Professor Maurice-Antoine Bruhat inaugurated the CICE (International Center for Endoscopic Surgery) in Clermont-Ferrand. The major innovation represented by laparoscopy in the practice of surgical techniques has simultaneously led to growing educational interest. Today, more than 1000 surgeons are trained each year at the CICE.

We decided to offer this solidarity training to thirty Ukrainian female surgeons to allow them to project themselves professionally, to continue to practice and learn, while their country is at war. explains Sophie Tontic.

The Michelin Foundation is happy to have supported this great outpouring of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
