The Michelin Foundation continues its commitment to the United Nations Road Safety Fund (UNRSF) to promote safer mobility worldwide.
“Road crashes are the leading cause of death for children and young adults aged 5 to 29 and among the top ten causes of death in all age groups. Low- and middle-income countries are heavily affected, accounting for 93 percent of all traffic-related deaths.”
Halving the number of road deaths and injuries by 2030, a Sustainable Development Goal target set by the United Nations, is ambitious but by no means out of reach.
Since 2018, the Michelin Corporate Foundation’s support has contributed to ensuring that 30 low- and middle-income countries benefited from UN Road Safety Fund solutions. The UN Road Safety Fund, with the support of the Michelin Corporate Foundation, aims to scale up these proven “road safety” solutions in many more countries by 2025.
